Weed library - Wild Tobacco Tree (Solanum mauritianum)


Wild Tobacco tree is a highly invasive weed forming dense stands. 

Wild tobacco tree is a small tree/shrub with light grey to green leaves that have a fury surface on the top and underside.

It flowers throughout the year, with open purple flowers arranged in large flat-topped clusters.

When using Gusto in a Hand Gun Application:


  • Thoroughly wet all the foliage but not to cause run off
  • Spray actively growing plants up to 2m tall between Spring and Autumn.

  • DO NOT spray when the plant is stressed (i.e. Drought, physical damage, insect damage etc)
